Stems
I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.
The stem is the most common component that will require changing during a bike fit. The reason is that all standard bikes are built to a cost and the bike manufacturers will get a better deal if they buy more of one type. Therefore, many bike will come with stems that are too long. Seldom are they too short, other than, in my opinion, XC MTB’s.

There are many stems on the market and the good news is that once you get above a certain price point, usually around £50 for a mid-range aluminium one, spending more is seldom going to attain improved performance or strength. Even the very lightest carbon stems with titanium bolts rarely get below 110g, so spending £50 on a stiff, properly designed aluminium stem is a good decision.

PRO PLT Stem - £49.99

The PRO PLT is 3D Forged with some nice shaping from 2014 grade aluminium for an optimized balance between strength, stiffness and low mass. It has discrete silver branding which is complemented by the silver bolts and machined face plate, so it looks good on most bikes, even those fitted with Campagnolo or SRAM parts.
From a Bike Fit perspective, it has a low stack height of 40mm and a greater than usual 10-degree drop (or rise) which usefully increases the height range achievable.

We have these in stock in all lengths between 50mm and 120mm.

Mass: 110mm: 135g, 100mm: 131g
PRO LT Stem - £39.99

The PRO LT stem is a lower-cost alternative to the PLT. Its made from slightly less expensive materials and has a shot peened finish which is not as classy, but does suit some bikes better.

The big difference is that the drop (or rise) angle is 6 degrees (vs 10 degrees for the PLT), so we may find a functional, rather than purely aesthetic reason for choosing which stem best suits your needs

We have these in stock in all lengths between 50mm and 120mm.
17-Degree Stems - £49.99 - £99.99

If you think you may require a greater rise or drop angle than 10 degrees, please let me know during the booking process and I can investigate stock options for you. 17 degrees is usually the maximum angle.
The Profile 1/Seventeen at £44.99 is the preferred lower cost option and can be flipped upwards to achieve a higher bar position or downwards to produce a lower one.

The PRO Vibe at £99.99 is the premium option, although its integrated top cap only works in the -17 degree (downwards) position.
